She really reminds me of a bad guy in most movies i have seen her in.
In this movie she portrays a fur lover who will do anything for the rarest fur. She decides she wants the dalmatian fur and she stops at nothing to try and get it. However Close being the bad guy, and bad guys never win, she does not succeed and gets put in jail for thievery.
This movie introduced Glen Close to me in a way that when i was a child i would see her as a bad guy forever, though now i see her as a very determined women. This role like many will show her determination throughout her career and will bleed through in her characters.

In this film, Walter Kresby and Joanna Eberhart take their two children to live in Stepford, Connecticut, after Joanna suffers a complete nervous breakdown upon her dismissal from the network she was running.

Stepford seemed perfect--perfect to everyone except Joanna, who was suspicious of the strange happenings in Stepford.

Eventually, viewers learn that all of the women in Stepford are robots, changed by their husbands into "perfect" wives.

Claire is also full of surprises, but I'll let you watch for yourself to see what Glenn Close brings to the table!
Keaton was the perfect man for the role as Batman. He played his character as Bruce Wayne perfectly which gained my likability even more.
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<i style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Actors Danny Devito and Michelle Pfeiffer also made this movie a must see for me. ( Which were characters Cat-woman & The Penguin) I also enjoyed the first movie Batman movie. Michael Keaton is the best Batman my far (to me). I have to say I've watched this movie over five times.
It takes two different people from two different sides of the tracks and unites them through a common passion, dancing.
The two characters Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey play their parts so well its really hard to imagine them as any other people. Baby, played by Jennifer Grey comes into conflict with her surroundings when she becomes completely mesmerized by Johnny, her dance instructor played by Patrick Swayze. Johnny who comes from a significantly different background than Baby soon becomes captivated by he uniqueness.
The story is amazingly constructed, very cleverly cast, and completely appropriate for the time period it was made in (1987). The reason is in this time period higher class people were not meant to be attracted to lower class because it would bring shame to your family. However in this movie where no one puts Baby in the corner the two characters (Johnny and Baby) overcome the standards set by other people.

Its your typical love story with a twist that revolves around basketball. Its about two people who love basketball and play it for a living. They've known each other since they were kids and were friends ever since. In high school they started a relationship but after college they lost touch.

Just when you think they will never see each other again, love seems to bring them back together in their adult years. The movie ends with the women playing for the WNBA and the male character who is now her husband, is in the audience with their child.

This movie's plot is great and the the actors were the perfect pick for this movie because they had such great chemistry. I give this movie two thumbs up.

This movie played into my interest in transportation and had me hooked before the first time I saw it!

Of course, I fell in love with the characters and the humanity of the film was also captivating to me.

The film is set in 1912, during the White Star Line's Titanic's maiden voyage. The film follows two young lovers as the events unfold on the days leading up to April 14 when, of course, the ship fatally struck an iceberg and sank over a period of a few hours.

This movie has everything--love, intrigue, betrayal and an incredible feat of innovation.

This classic will remain at the top of my list--perhaps I should go watch it now...
It was a lot of inappropriate costumes that I saw while searching on line, but I am going to keep it PG13. There were four unique costumes that really stood out to me. The first was the M&M bag (adult) with a single M&M (child), I thought that was really adorable. Another was an iron man costume that was an actual clothes iron front instead of the appearance from the movies. Next was a women dressed as a socket and the man as the plug. This could also be an inappropriate costume. Last was the facebook page costume. This one was my favorite.

This brings me to my list of inappropriate Halloween costumes. #1 Octomom. #2 alcohol bottle #3 tampax tampons #4 condom wrapper (hope that is still PG13) and #5 KKK costume. At first I thought it was a joke but it is an actual costume, and very inappropriate.

Well I hope you enjoyed reading my list. I look forward to reading everyone else's lists. :)Editorial and Current Affairshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08026363463281350325noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7622277911475061369.post-61159090910635761632010-10-06T19:11:00.000-07:002010-10-06T19:11:16.300-07:00Three ShowsBesides being blue i didn't really like a lot about the first show we watched from the Blue Man Group. I though the lighting was too blue it made try real hard not to get a headache and the act was just mediocre.I expected more from professionals.

As for a team of new comers Fighting Gravity didnt have to fight at all the gave the illusion that there was no problem laying side ways in the air the music and lighting was amazing and worked very well with the production. There are some things they could clean up but all in all for amateurs they did a way better job than say 3 blue dudes.

Though the most amazingly, heart wrenching, deathly act was the death wheel act performed by the Cirque De Sole. They did a wonderful job from music, costumes, tricks and everything, they kept you watching without a doubt and you didn't want to take your eyes off of them for one second. They truly defined entertainment and how it should be done.

And a drum roll please the most amazing act of them all is without a doubt the Wheel of Death by Cirque De Sole. They did a wonderful job and kept me not wanting to even take my notes for looking away meant that i could miss an amazing talent.
The Blue Man Group had a very weird beginning. Just the sight of the blue men terrifies me...just a little bit. I did enjoy the music which seemed to go great with this particular act. I was confused at first but I realized they were making art. This act was unique but not what I expected. I was sort of disappointed. The second act was Cirque du Soliel. The act was the "Wheel of Death." The music was dark and racy, which fits the theme of this act. I liked that it showed different angles of the act and it really kept my attention. The lighting also set the mood.
The last act was by a group from Blacksburg, VA from Virginia Tech. I really enjoyed this because he had me asking myself, "How do they do this??" Makes me respect science a little more. I did not take off points from them because of the minor mistakes they made because they were not professionals but still managed to amaze me. Out of the three, my favorite was the Cirque du Soliel act. Those men were talented and very brave. I wouldn't mind watching more shows by them.Editorial and Current Affairshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08026363463281350325noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7622277911475061369.post-33059997058816753972010-10-05T19:23:00.000-07:002010-10-05T19:23:06.201-07:00Non-Dramatic ReviewI was very impressed with the three performances Dr. Hoffman shared in class today.

The first was Blue Man Group performing a part of one of their shows using some everyday items in very unique ways. There was something of marshmallow mouth-stuffing competition, which was quite possibly a statement against overindulgence in our society. The group also used paintballs in a way not originally intended by the manufacturer. Two of the three men caught the packs of paint in their mouths and spat the contents onto a canvas to create "art." Again, I find this to be a commentary on our society and what defines art.

The second show we saw was a portion of a Cirque Du Soleil performance. This featured two men running and jumping around two circles as the entire structure spun around. They performed feats of acrobatics and physical prowess. The show was clearly a challenge to put together.

The final group of talented individuals shared with the class today was Fighting Gravity from Virginia Tech. This group of fraternity brothers were impressive in conceptualization and execution. While I noticed room for improvement, I was impressed with the performance.

My favorite of these is the performance from Cirque Du Soleil. I really enjoyed the element of danger and perceived commitment from the performers. I felt their execution of the show was flawless and left me with a very positive impression of Cirque Du Soleil as a whole. I wouldn't mind seeing more from that genre.
He said this was his first role he ever had to play where he was many characters." I have to morph into another character in like 15 secs because the play is so fast pace". However even with the play being so character demanding for just two people Todd felt it was extremely fun working on the play. The play is set in Tuna Texas and is really a glimpse of these peoples everyday lives. Todd in formed me that its really one of those stories where you can relate and makes you feel like " Hey, I know someone like that". Another amazing thing that Todd shared with me is that this is the biggest role he has ever had to play in his whole 13 yrs of acting.

But i don't want to give away too much about the play so there goes a little about the person i asked and a small bit of info about the play.

I found a short, but concise review of the play "Exit/Entrance" that was not altogether pleasant but not altogether unkind.

The review gives a brief description of how the play flows and provides enough information to allow the reader to see if they would be interested in seeing it.

I know I would be!
